Salman Khan may be out on prowl with ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and Shahrukh may dish another mushy romance opposite Katrina Kaif in a Yash Raj flick but the year 2012’s most awaited film is none other than Aamir Khan’s ‘Talaash’. Expected to be out on theatres, somewhere around 1st June, it’s already gathering momentum & building huge hype.
Here are the 3 reasons why ‘Talaash’ has been dubbed as the year’s most awaited:
Aamir Khan: Let’s admit it! Aamir Khan, the man with the Midas touch, is currently the cream of Bollywood and an emperor of the box office (even a tad ahead of Salman & SRK). His last big release ‘3 Idiots’ (2009) still remains the highest grosser at the box office. And even small films from his banner like ‘Dhobi Ghat’ or ‘Peepli Live’ have done good business and garnered critical acclaim as well. Aamir is currently the undisputed magician and when a magician walks on to the stage, an entire crowd is waiting with bated breath and awed hypnotism.
Box office draught: Aamir Khan may have essayed a small role of a painter in wife Kiran Rao’s ‘Dhobi Ghat’ but he has been absent from the screen as a leading actor since ‘3 Idiots’. His diehard fans are feeling a sense of emptiness. So, now when he returns after 2 years to conquer the box office draught, an ocean of cine-goers will queue up to watch the first day first show.
Element of mysticism: The air of mystery surrounding the film has added to the charm. The plot is being carefully guarded with not much known about the story except for the fact that Aamir plays a cop who is on a hunt for ‘something’. No posters (so far), no video stills, no whiff of storyline….the element of mysticism has only augmented our appetite.
Reader’s Opinion: Why do you think ‘Talaash’ is the most awaited film of the year?
