Mumbai: Always hailed as an actor who prefers to focus on his work rather than the controversies, Akshaye khanna has always preferred to keep his personal life guarded. Happy to stay away from the attention, Akshaye clarifies that he can’t spread false rumours about himself to stay in the limelight. There were reports of his apparent affair with Tara Sharma and his Naqaab co-star Urvashi Sharma, but Akshaye distances these rumours and doesn’t provide any insight. As he has done throughout his career, he wants to be known for his work as an actor and not for his private life.
The actor who is 36 now; is single and unlike other actors, who are yet to tie the knot, remains happy with his situation. He quips that Salman Khan is his inspiration and until he ties the knot, Akshaye won’t think about his own marriage. Akshaye and Salman have worked together in the multistarrer Salaam-E-Ishq which was directed by Nikhil Advani. Though the film failed to do well at the box office, the two are still believed to be good friends.
After a dull 2011, 2012 seems to be arriving on a positive note for Akshaye. His film Gali Gali mein chor hain, is slated for a February release. The film directed by Rumi Jaffrey is believed to put the plight of a common man, in context with the current political scenario in our country. Akshaye essays the role of a frustrated common man, who is surrounded by a world of corrupt people. Apart from Akshaye, the film’s cast includes Shriya Saran, Mughda Godse, Satish Kaushik and Annu Kapoor. If things get sorted out in his personal life as well, then this eligible bachelor will be able to enjoy a perfect 2012 year.
