He is one of the few actors in Bollywood, who don’t look their age. And while he had already wooed the Indian audiences in all these years, he went international with Danny Boyle’s Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire. The movie bagged many awards at this prestigious awards and Anil along with the other actors in the hit flick got global recognition.
All thanks to Slumdog, he was cast in hit American TV series, 24. And just recently, he was in news for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. It was claimed that Anil had a meaty role in the film. But know the cat is out of the bag and Anil’s five minute role has come as a shocker to his die-hard fans. In fact, it can’t be termed a cameo either.
All that the veteran actor does in the movie is getting beaten up by the actress Paula Patton, for making passes at her. And he doesn’t have any interaction with the Hunk, Tom Cruise, at all for whom he threw a lavish party when the Hollywood actor visited Mumbai. The party saw the likes of many celebrities which included Preity Zinta, Arjun Rampal, Sonam Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Neil Nitin Mukes, Dhanush, Aamir Khan, Tabu.
Now, the question is that did Anil Kapoor truly have a meaningful role that would have suited his stature or was this all a publicity stunt to make sure that many Indians watch the movie. Whatever the case maybe, the fact is that Bollywood actors are still mistreated by Hollywood. But the sad part is that they seem to be content with the little respect they receive on screen.
In doing so, however, these Indian stars upset their valuable fans back home.
