Emraan Hashmi is known in Bollywood for doing roles involved in more than just acting. He made his debut in Bollywood, with the movie ‘Footpath’ in the year 2003. Neither did it fare well in the box office nor did people take notice of him. Emraan rose to popularity with the movie ‘Murder’ the next year. Since then he has done all similar type roles in movies such as ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’, ‘Aksar’, ‘Crook’ , and thus earned the tag of ‘Serial Kisser’.
Now the latest buzz is that we can see Emraan Hashmi in a totally different role very soon. He will be seen in a very funny character in an upcoming movie named ‘Ghanchakkar’, directed by Rajkumar Gupta.
Gupta has already made serious movies like ‘Aamir’ and ‘No One Killed Jessica’ and they have proved to be quite successful. Now he is all set to make a light – hearted comedy with Emraan in its lead.
According to Emraan, ‘Ghanchakkar’ is one of the best scripts he has come across in recently. He found the film to be very edgy, modern and a total ‘paisa – vasool’ material.
Gupta said that his movie is a quasi – realistic urban comedy – thriller, depicting the absurdity of certain common human situations.
The film will be produced under the banner of UTV Motions Pictures which had also produced the last two movies of Gupta.
Rajkumar Gupta is extremely excited about his third venture. “What makes the movie all the more thrilling is the fact that we are going to work with Emraan for the first time”, said the CEO of UTV Motions Pictures, Siddhartha Roy Kapoor. He also said the Emraan is one of the most bankable stars of recent times and that he will be seen in an entirely new character in the film.
