The Band Baaja Baarat fame Ranveer Singh has clarified that he is free to sign films outside the YRF Banner and he is not bound by any contract which does not permit him from courting other directors.
Ranveer was recently in Delhi to shoot for his next film Ladies vs Ricky Bahl which is being produced by YRF productions and directed by Manish Sharma who directed Band Baaja Baarat as well. Ranveer looked to quell all rumours which linked him to be the next mascot of the YRF banner. He also clarified that he was tied to a three movie contract to the banner but it did not forbade him to sign other movies. The only condition was that Band Baaja Baarat should be his first movie.
He said, “I do have a three-film contract with YRF but it’s not exclusive. The only condition was that Band Baaja Baraat would be my first film. Now, I’m free to sign films with other banners.” When asked about being seen with the likes of Karan Johar and the mascot of YRF banner he said, “Karan is a brilliant director and one of the warmest people I’ve met. I’d love to work with him. As for YRF, I’m too small an entity to be the flag bearer for the banner.”
