Big news in Bombay came out the other day. The High Court ordered the attachment of two properties of Sanjay Dutt, the Bollywood star. It seems that the reason for this decision was the financial row between Sanjay and the film producer Shakeel Noorani. The star’s lawyer confirmed this rumor.
Following this decision, the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPPA) passed an arbitration award in January, in favor of Shakeel Noorani. The latter’s lawyer also spoke to the press, saying that Noorani had paid a signing amount of Rs. 50 lakh to Sajay Dutt for the film “Jaan Ki Baazi”, but Sanjay did not complete the shooting.
However, it was not until 2008 that Dutt had confessed to Noorani that he will not be completing the film. Financial loss was caused to Noorani, and now he claims RS 3.28 crore as damage.
The court is getting together as soon as the vacation is over, on January 3rd. The only way Dutt can avoid auction of his two properties is by paying Noorani the amount he claimed within 30 days.
