If your world revolves around Bollywood, then you must have already been partying in joy as the beauty pageant winner Lara Dutta gave birth to a sweet baby girl. The new girl arrives only weeks after Beti B (the latest addition in the Bachchan ‘pariwar’) and Lara and hubby Mahesh Bhupathi are overjoyed.
Lara’s baby landed on holy Earth on 20th January at 4 pm (what a punctual girl) and the astrologers are already burying their heads into charts & papers to make prophecies for this latest entrant to the Bollywood fraternity. For instance, one astrologer states that the girl has taken birth at an inauspicious time and her parents must organize a ‘puja’ to ward off diseases & difficulties. Also, it is being said that her name must begin with ‘N’ or ‘Y’ as these letters are friendly towards her zodiac signs.
That makes us wonder if some of our modern day celebs are still deeply superstitious about stars & zodiacs? Even Aishwarya’s wedding to Abhishek took place after, reportedly, she was married off to a tree to eradicate her ‘manglik’ dosh. Perhaps, the current India is right now at a stage where we are witnessing a healthy mix of traditional rites & liberal principles. So, all is well that ends well. And we still await the naming of Abhishek-Aishwarya’s new baby. ‘A’ is the desirable letter!
Meanwhile, moving over to another trending news, PETA India has declared its new face for the hottest vegetarian in the country. And the sex bombshell Mallika Sherawat along with the nation’s new heart throb ‘Dhanush’ have emerged as the winners.
The winners were decided by a voting process and Mallika & Dhanush trumped over some of the big names including those of Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi, Hema Malini and the dirty Vidya Balan!
The ‘Murder’ actress may have gone non-veg on the screen but the cuisines on her plate are definitely leafy and green. ‘Kolaveri Di’ singer Dhanush is also on cloud nine after receiving the recognition and has declared that he is extremely proud to be a vegetarian and feels light-hearted by his positive contribution to the environment.
Moral of the story: Bollywood has shown with pride & panache how to celebrate girl power and how to say no to meat & fish.
