The graph of box office is very much like stock market sensex and this week the box office has taken a plunge as all of the new releases failed to make their impact. This week there were four new releases but all failed to impress the audiences and to gather some good collection. Here we take a quick look at why these movies could not do better this week.
Chitkabrey Shades of Grey was looking the most promising movie that could make some money at the box office, but it was certainly a disappointment. The movie talks about the issue of ragging but the direction and everything else in the movie fails to hold the attention of the audience. The story in the second half is extremely boring and pointless and flooded with lot of soft porn sequences which puts viewers to sleep.
Yeh Dooriyan was also one of the new releases which is directed by Deepshikha. Although she has acted well in the movie and the topic is very social but Yeh Dooriyan certainly does not have any face value that could attract the audience to movie halls. The social drama is not well handled and poor music and songs make this movie unbearable.
Stand By is directed by Sanjay Surkar who makes good movies but fails this time. Stand By has a good storyline but once again poor face value of the movie and absolutely poor marketing puts Stand By on standby mode in the very first week. The audiences are not happy with the songs that are added to this plot and that works against the movie.
Shabri is certainly the best performance by Isha Koppikar but the movie is launched too late. Recently, there have been many gangster movies that did well but audiences are now tired of watching gangster flicks. Shabri’s cast and crew never created any hype in the market for the movie which also results in the poor opening for the movie.
