Mumbai: The highly awaited film “Dum Maro Dum” has appeared in the media ever since it was still a project. The reasons may not have been the right ones, but it was still publicity and it did work. As the film was finally released, it managed to bring in an income of no less than Rs 6.2 crore only from India. And this was only in the opening day.
Rohan Sippy is overjoyed with this response from the public. He was quite nervous since the release of the film was facing competition from the Indian Premier League, going on at the same time. The start is perfect, and the response was particularly strong from Hyderabad, as well as from other cities like Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata.
The film was made at the budget of Rs. 20 crore, and on Friday it was released in 1,000 theatres throughout India, as well as in other 350 locations in 20 different countries. Since during the first day the film brought in Rs 11.4 from the UAE, US, Britain and Australia, Sippy is very confident about the future.
