‘Highway’ box-Office Report

Box Office Collection : 4 Cr

Box-office reports are out! The Imtiaz Ali directorial venture, Highway, that released yesterday has fared an average occupancy of 20-25% across the country which is pretty low. However, considering the unconventional pairing of the lead actors, the start is an expected one. A road trip movie, this Alia-Randeep starrer was aimed at the multiplex audiences and it is very much succeded in doing that, the movie has successfully caught the fancy of the multiplex audiences but has failed to grab attention at the single screen. The movie made a business of 3.75 cr on its opening day, i.e. yesterday.

The movie started slow in the morning shows but picked up from afternoon. The word-of-mouth is average and getting a thumps down from critics, the movie may fare around 13 cr in its first weekend. For many, the collections may seem very low but its good, considering the limited release of the movie. The Alia Bhatt starrer released on 700 screens in India.

Starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda in lead, the movie dealt with a rather new subject for Indian audiences, Stockholm Syndrome. It is a story of a girl developing a soft corner for his kidnapper during their run from police across the country.

The movie is expected to recover its cost, but the next week’s release, Shaadi Ke Side Effects, may damper its run at the ticket window.

For the final figures of the weekend, lets wait and watch!
