Sipping the Gossips with Goher Iqbal Punn
Entertainment industries are always filled up with catfights – whether it is Hollywood or Bollywood or even any industry of any country, one witnesses the catfights a lot. Since it is the nature of a woman to get jealous of other women, thus the brawls happen among them. And it is more common in the entertainment fraternity where the ladies develop jealously for others and ultimately the catfights are dished out for the masses on the headlines.
Well, these catfights are also done for the sake of publicity since it is a shortcut to quick fame, the women of the sparkling abode are much aware of it, thus they sharpen their nails to attack on the others. The matter reaches at the paparazzi, who get it adorned on the headlines and in particular these kinds of stories often get published in the tabloids, the female celebs are bestowed with mammoth popularity among the masses. The added spices to these catfights tote up extra dose of fame to the celebs’ wings leaving them with utter happiness. One side they keep throwing mud on the other, and on the other they continue feeling at ease inside that well-deserved publicity is being hyped.
On the other side to the story, often the brawls between the ladies of the glittering world take place in actual (as mentioned above because of the natural jealousy factor).
Being an analyst of this trade of entertainment, I often come across these catfights of the leading ladies of the showbiz abode – both Bollywood and Hollywood. With my experience spanning over more than a decade, I agree with what I narrated above i.e. the catfights between the women take place in both manners – ‘planned (for publicity) and actual’. And in both manners, the celebs’ popularity graph soars sky high.
Some of famous catfights taken place among the most prominent women of Bollywood in last few years, I would like to dash off.
Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor have not been on friendly terms post Don. Recently the catfight oozed out between the two ladies at a practice session of an awards’ function when Piggy Chops, with apparent jealousy of Kareena’s bigger success, took advantage of teasing and disturbing Bebo by getting her performance time delayed that ultimately led to eating out Kareena’s practice time. Bebo threatened to walk out of the show. Shah Rukh Khan was luckily there who got the matter solved between the two.
Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma lately landed into a silent fight that could have been turned violent but fortunately the issue cooled down. This is what happened that they shared a common makeup man. Anushka had to take the makeup man along with her to London for the shooting of a movie. Initially Katrina agreed but soon when the time approached, she withdrew her consent and did not allow makeup man to go anywhere with Anushka, who could not do anything except to be in trouble since Kat has a fat hand on her (you know well….our Sallu bhai).
The catfight between Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif was well projected when the shooting of New York was going on. Since Bipasha was dating John Abraham those days, she could not bear the closeness of Katrina to her beau.
Katrina Kaif and Sonkashi Sinha’s catfight too came into limelight few months back when the speculations emerged that Sonakshi was chipping in against Katrina after her blockbuster success of Dabangg which gave her all the brand endorsements which once Katrina used to do. Sonakshi even smsed Kat to clarify the things, but she did not respond her at all having the grudge in heart.
Sonam Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai’s catfight was well projected by the media and the tabloids few years back when Aishwarya refused walking on the red carpet along with the new sensation and sizzling beauty of Bollywood Sonam Kapoor at the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival in France.
The fury developed between the two actresses due to Sonam’s saying Aishwaray ‘Aunty’ and fetching in the brand L’Oreal from her. Eventually both were then signed as the brand ambassadors of the brand. The fight was ultimately settled by Abhishek Bachchan.
Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut do not share any friendly atmosphere together. They are not even seen together and if by chance they bumped into each other, each slips from the side of the other. The issue between the two actresses is that both claimed that they were the lead actresses of Fashion. Even Priyanka went ahead categorically saying in the media that she was the main lead of the film not Kangana. This offended Ranaut a lot.
The enmity of Aishwarya Rai and Rani Mukherjee is visible to the media and masses. This started when Aishwarya was signed in Shah Rukh Khan’s production Chalte Chalte but finally Rani bagged the project. The matter cooled down but how can a wife tolerate the woman who her man was dating once, hmmm! You all know Rani and Abhishek were dating prior to Aishwarya’s entry into his life.
Ameesha Patel and Kareena Kapoor both have not been on friendly terms at all since the outset. This is because that Kareena was the first choice of Rakesh Roshan for Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai but she refused at the eleventh hour thus Roshan zeroed in Ameesha to launch with his son’s debut vehicle. Ameesha’s career shot to heights quickly after the release whereas Kareena those days was an average star. Thus how the instant fame of a newcomer could be swallowed by the famed family’s babe?
Recently we heard the catfight between Deepika Padukone and Chitrangda Singh happened during the shooting of Desi Boyz when the two insisted to wear the same outfit that caused the director to land into big trouble. Both the ladies then denied the catfights in the media.
The catfights are the active part of this game of show business and this is the sign that shows the women exist in the entertainment industry.
