The legenadry Bollywood actor of international fame and big stature, Amitabh Bachchan was cast opposite the girl 30 years of his junior in age, Jiah Khan in Ram Gopal Verma’s Nishabd. It was really an unusual pairing, which few liked and most didn’t. Bachchan tried doing so again with another much younger girl Tabu in Cheeni Kam.
The pairing of Bipasha Basu and R. Madhavan did not work at all. They were taken in the main leads in the movie, ‘Jodi Breakers’. The film bombed at the box office and the pairing was not liked at all.
Govinda opposite Katrina Kaif
Both worked together in comedy movie, ‘Partner’. The pairing was really unusual because of the aged Govinda and the taller and much younger Katrina. But it worked and people love it. The moviegoers would really love to see more of these kinds of pairings in Hindi cinema.
Himesh Reshammiya opposite Hansika Motwani
The musician-singer turned actor Himesh Reshammiya was cast opposite the super gorgeous and super young lass of Bollywood, Hansika Motwani in Aap Ka Suroor. Hansika was 15 years old at that time and Himesh, the middle aged man. The film flopped and so did the pairing of the couple.
Abhishek Bachchan opposite Rani Mukherjee
Both have worked together in various movies so far. Theirs is really an unusual pairing seen in Bollywood since the guy is much taller than the girl. Initially many were of the view with the gestures…huh…hmmm….really? But when the pair was seen on screen, people liked them and it worked big time.
The Hindi audience is pretty welcoming and welcomes the new trends with vigor. The above mentioned unusual pairings are mixed bags since few worked well among the audiences and others simply bombed not only at the box office but also with the masses.
