Director Elliott Lester’s action thriller ‘Blitz’ release in India and the flick did manage to grab the audiences in theaters. Elliot has made the flick with much vigor and conviction that is vivid on screen. The film shows how deeply the director put himself into the flick to make the raw product into profitable finished goods!
Blitz talks about a serial killer who is out to eliminate the police force. He begins with killing the cops piecemeal – one by one. The serial killer’s only target is police and he has been targeting them solely. Tom Brant (Jason Statham) has been assigned the duty to track this killer down. Brant is notorious in the department as a bad-ass sociopathic cop. Despite being a killer cop, Brant is loved by the entire police department for he is the one who always comes up when someone is in need. How he tackles with the serial killer is what Blitz all about!
The film showcases the brilliant skills of the leading man of the film, Jason Statham. The execution of how Brant chases up Barry Weiss (Aiden Gillen), whose only purpose in life is to slaughter all the men in blue, to hunt him down is simply brilliant.
Elliot knows the pulse of the viewers aptly and he did a superb job of getting the cinema lovers glued to the celluloid till the end reel. His direction is great to rave big about. He is further complimented by the story and the script – both are simply awesome. Ken Bruen for story and Nathan Parker for screenplay deserve full marks for splendid jobs.
Cinematography is supreme. It has been done aptly as per the requirements of the subject. Editing portion of the movie is crispy and looks fabulous. The film has hardly any flaws in any department even the movie is also well-made technically.
Jason Statham is the one who actually carries the whole film on his shoulders. He sinks into the character deeply and portrays it with finesse. Aidan Gillen is first rate. Paddy Considine is awesome. Rest of the cast too does fine.
Final Verdict by the Critic:
Blitz is well-executed film that deserves to be watched. It confers utter with pleasures to enjoy with.
