There are some TV programs that have been rated as classics that can never fade out of our mind. Why? Probably because they are simple and the storytelling is so straight to the point and funny that we can’t help but fall in love. Office Office is one such TV program that was funny, straight to the point and it revealed some not so good things about our society in the most comic way that could make us laugh out loud. Now the same concept is being brought to the big screen by Rajiv Mehra.
Chala Mussaddi Office Office is an attempt to revive those funny moments that have faded from our TV screens but will always remain in our memories. The cast of the movie is loaded with senior actors like Farida Jalal, Pankaj Kapoor, Makrand Deshpande, Deven Bhojani and Sanjay Mishra. The movie revolves around retired schoolmaster Mussaddi Lal Tripathi who is just another common man who is trying to resolve his own problems. He is already troubled by his wife’s sickness and to make matters worse his negligence and innocence delays the entire hospital procedure which leads to the death of his beloved wife. Soon, Mussaddi and his son Bunty leave for pilgrimage and during his absence pension officers arrive at his residence. However, a misunderstanding happens and pension officers assume that Mussadi Lal has passed away and they report his as dead in their database.
The movie will certainly have some great laughs along with some stinging lines that would point towards the level of corruption that root in our government system. This movie could also be seen as a common man’s fight against the corruption in the system and many people would connect with it since the corruption issue is always in the news these days. However, it sounds like that young generation would stay away from it because the movie will be focusing on the story and less on entertainment. All we can hope is that the movie works well at the box office.
