Chronicle is a sci-fiction flick that is alluring and attention grabbing with a good storyline and script to rave big about. Directed by Josh Trank, the film stars Dane DeHaan, Michael B. Jordan, Alex Russell and Michael Kelly in the main lead roles. The film talks about three high school teenagers who all of a sudden are laced with the superpowers which turn them a true roller coaster but when the obliteration happens, they land into mammoth troubles.

The film is a well-executed saga. The director is a classy story-teller, who has grip over the art which is why he gets the viewers stick to their seats till the climax. The viewer opens the eyes from the opening reel till the finale. The story is actually gripping that develops the interest level inside the viewers and another plus point is the direction that is superb and does not let the moviegoer get disappointed or bored for a moment. The story is not extraordinary, since these types of movies have been seen earlier a lot of times, but is alluring and grabs the attention. That is the worthwhile thing about it.

The film is not just all about the invention rather it tells the story of the 18 years old guys who like the things to go ahead in their style and film also depicts about their superpowers which then distort and harm them to the core. Three teenagers – Andrew Detmer (DeHaan), Steve (Michael B. Jordan) and Matt (Alex Russell) try to doll up what they find best to relive every day by capturing the moments on their video camera. They finish up confining a mysteriously strange hole in the ground. They get the superpowers and with them, they are out to do what they have been yearning for. They keep on enjoying with them until the actual realization of these superpowers arrive in. Comes up next is the destruction.

The story is undoubtedly interesting if not novel. Max Landis deserves applauds for it. The script is well penned and distinction marks go to Max Landis again for writing such a gripping script. Direction by Josh Trank is class in itself. Cinemotography is eye-catchy and alluring. AFX are great to watch.

DeHaan attracts with the performance. Michael B. Jordan lifts the sprits and Alex Russell impresses with the class of acting. Rest of the cast fills the bill also.

Final Verdict by the Critic:

On the whole, Chronicle is a brilliantly made science fiction movie that is laced with classy story, convincing script, luminous performances and super direction.
