New Delhi: De Ghuma Ke, the ICC World Cup song, has become a popular number. Only a week after its release, judging by YouTube, the verdict is obvious: a total hit!
Let’s take a look behind this success! The song was composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, and Manoj Yadav is the lyricist. In the song, the latter used many common Hindi expressions, including “jiyo khiladi wah re wah re”, “guthi gutham”, “aare pare” and “juta hausla badla faisla”.
The song was written for the World Cup, which starts on the 19th of February. Fans will hear it during the opening ceremony, in Bangladesh. But he are hearing a lot of this song right now, as it has over 10,000 viewers on YouTube, since New Year, when it was released.
The song “De Ghuma Ke” will also be dubbed in Sinhalese and Bengali.
Shankar revealed he is very proud of this song, and he is also very eager to perform it in Bangladesh, on February 19th.
The plan was to make a fun song, on which people can dance and sing. It seems they made it!
