Indeed it is true! Deepika Padukone has refused a Rs 3.5 crore offer from the marketing team of Harley Davidson who want her to perform on the song Dum Maaro Dum at a major event of theirs. The song has been on air for a week and it has already generated a lot of public opinion which is mostly negative due to its crass lyrics.
An associate of Harley Davidson has confirmed that the company did get in touch with Deepika by saying, “The song is perfect for us because it has a great youth connect and besides Deepika is a craze in the 16 to 30 age bracket. We unanimously agreed that she was ideal to take our bike to Indian connoisseurs. The high-energy choreography and much-discussed lyrics have caught the fancy of youngsters,”
But to their disappointment Deepika has turned down the offer citing her involvement with the promotions of the movie Dum Maaro Dum which tend to happen on the same dates as the events. She is currently filming Desi Boyz in London.
The Harley Marketing team is still keeping their fingers crossed in case Deepika changes her mind as she still remains their first choice.
