Jimmy Sheirgill bags biggest deal

New Delhi: The Deol family is doing well at the moment, but there seems to be a threat for them in all the territories where their films are doing better than ever, including their home ground, Punjab. The films of the Deols are getting the biggest deals in Punjabi, but Jimmy Sheirgill is running from behind to catch up.

“Dharti”, the upcoming film of Jimmy, a bilingual Hindi-Punjabi film, has sold rights for the launch of the film overseas, not including the UK, for the incredible value of 1 million Australian dollars, to Dreamworld Entertainment. A hot territory is the United Kingdom, and it seems that Jimmy has some high offers coming from there as well. In India, the film will be distributed by the producing company itself, Jimmy retaining the rights in his home country.

A trade source explained that Jimmy is the number one star when it comes to Punjabi films, and that his latest release “Mel Karade Rabba” has grabbed the awards for Best Film, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Music, being an even more smashing success that “Gadar Ek Prem Katha” by Sunny Deol.
