New Delhi: The Pakistan Interior Minister has phoned personally the Indian counterpart P. Chidambaram. The reason for why Rehman Malik has made the call was to thank the Interior Minister of India for the release of the famous singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
The singer, nephew of a legendary Pakistani singer, was detained a couple of days ago on the airport as he had just arrived to New Delhi. The police acted on sure information, but their source was not revealed to the press. Rahat Fateh was guilty of bearing undisclosed foreign currency, in a total value which exceeded U.S. $100,000.
This Tuesday, after the release of the singer being made public, the minister Rehman Malik spoke with Chidambaram on the phone, thanking the latter for ensuring the release of the Pakistani singer.
