Senior actor Navin Nischol passed away today due to a massive heart attack. The veteran actor was travelling to Pune with the actor Randhir Kapoor in his car in the morning when he suffered the attack. He was quickly taken to a nearby hospital but the doctors declared him dead when he was bought in.
According to the close one the funeral took place in the evening today with family members and close friends from the entertainment industry present. Among those from Bollywood filmmaker Manmohan Shetty, Romesh Sharma and Govind Nihlani were also present.
Mr Nischol was a product of FTII as he went on to make a successful debut with the film Saavan Bhadon in 1970 and went on to feature in various films like Parwana, Dhund, Buddha Mil Gaya and later as a character actor in The Burning Train and Major Saab.
He made a successful change to the tv industry in the early nineties as he went on to feature in the popular sitcom Dekh Bhai Dekh. He was last seen in the runaway hit Khosla Ka Ghosla and then last year in Break Ke Baad.
Several bollywood celebrities mourned his death.
