Trailer Review: ‘Holiday’

Akki is back! And he is back with a bang! The trailer of Akshay Kumar starrer Holiday is out and we can’t stop praising about it.   The 3 minutes 10 seconds long trailer is full of what Akshay’s fan expect from the superstar – comedy, romance and powerful action.

Teaming up with his favourite actress, Sonakshi Sinha, the promo looks promising as it shows Captain Viraat (played by Akshay) off on a holiday with his family in the first half of the trailer. The romance is mushy and the dialogues are worth a laughter. Very cleverly complimenting the visuals is the music which is peppy, like all of Akshay’s previous movies. However, it’s the second half of the trailer that reveals why the movie has a tagline ‘A soldier is never off duty’. The second half focuses entirely on Akshay, sidelining Sonakshi, and his tough job. He is shown to be a DIA agent of the Indian Army, a spy  and his holiday is actually an undercover task. His job is to safeguard the country at any cost. The action sequences glorifies Akki’s Khiladi image! It’s raw, powerful and beleivable. Akshay shines in those moments, giving goosebumps! The film is a remake of Tamil blockbuster ‘Thuppakki’ and is directed by A. R. Murgudoss. It is Murgudoss’ second venture into Bollywood; he had earlier directed Aamir Khan in ‘Ghajini’. The director is all set for a powerful comeback with the movie on June 6, 2014.   Check the trailer right here!
