Just yesterday, at the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court, a PIL was filed. A woman was seeking to ban the “Sheila Ki Jawani” and “Munni Badnam Hui” item numbers from Bollywood. The reason for the petition was that the songs denigrate morality and decency.
The woman requested that, as long as the song “Sheila Ki Jawani” will not be removed from the film, “Tees Maar Khan” must not be released.
The PIL will come for hearing immediately after the winter vacation. Until then, Nutan Thakur, the petitioner, managed with the help of her counsel Ashok Pandey, to stop all publicity and public exhibition of the two songs.
Respondents in the PIL have been made by Twinkle Khanna, Shirish Kunder, Ronnie Screwvala, Farah Khan, and also the producers of “Dabangg”. The Censor Board and Union of India have also responded.
The petitioner wants to stop all indecent, vulgar, immoral songs from being broadcasted, and stop the negative impact these songs have on the society.
Hey, as long as it’s entertaining, it should go out!
