Saif Ali Khan’s magnum opus and close to heart film. Agent Vinod, opened up to mixed reviews from the critics last Friday. The film where Saif plays a RAW Agent, Vinod Khanna, is an Indian adaptation of James Bond. The Indianised version of Bond meets Bourne didn’t quite rise up to audience’s expectations. What looked like a slick, high tech spy thriller turned out to be a major dud for most cine goers! But yet, the movie managed to have some positive reviews, thanks to the advanced use of technology.
For those who have watched the film would certainly know that regardless of the response to his film, he had planted the roots to a sequel. The last scene, much like the Don series and the Golmaal series, give a hint of a sequel being readied for the suave agent filled with machismo! But now, Saif is so mighty pleased with the return, be it the revenue or the response, he has nailed upon a sequel to Agent Vinod. Sriram Raghavan, the director of this film, when contacted, told, “We are working on an idea and will be making one more Agent Vinod film. The idea had always been to see Vinod in the midst of different adventures in different countries. Luckily for us, the film had an encouraging opening. Maybe in a month, I will start working on another film for the franchise. However, it’s too early to say anything”.
For the ones who felt your cola and popcorn was the best bet from the movie, this is bad news for you! Even trade analyst suggest that the film would fail to recover its cost, which means Saif’s much hyped Agent Vinod is heading for a disaster at the box office! As of Saif, there’s just one advice. Dude, try and play it safe this time round!
