If you go back in times and read some of the old newspapers and Bollywood magazines you will find tons of articles and news articles that would revolve around how directors and producers were paranoid about Censor Board giving their films A Certificate and how they would fight, beg and convince the Censor Board that they would at least give them U/A certificates. However, directors and producers today think differently as they are not scared of the A certificates given to them by Censor Board.
This year Delhi Belly created lot of news all over India because of the raw dialogues and adult humor content that was added in it. However, producer Aamir Khan was quite satisfied with A certificate that Censor Board provided. Aamir Khan was more worried about the cuts that Censor Board would impose on the movie, but was less concerned about the A certificate because he believed that too many cuts would hamper the final product and would not make Delhi Belly a better movie.
Now, Milan Luthria, director of The Dirty Picture thinks on the same line because he believes that producers and directors should have some freedom to showcase their creativity. He also said that The Dirty Picture is hot and spicy opportunity that blends sex with emotional tale and therefore it should not be seen as obscene but just one part of the movie. Milan Luthria also said that The Dirty Picture is a creative movie and Vidya Balan has worked hard to enact someone who was known for her sensuousness who later on battles loneliness and rejection. Hence, the movie does carry some adult content but there is some story attached to it and it’s not just about sex but about passing an important message to the society.
