The festival season has hit us hard and we are all set for some entertainment. Salman Khan is definitely back with a bang as Bodyguard and looks like this movie is the most Wanted and has the best Dabangg of all. Directed by Siddique, Bodyguard stars Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead role along with Raj Babbar, Hazel Keech and Mahesh Manjrekar in the supporting cast.
Let’s cut the chase and talk about the plot first. The movie revolves around Lovely Singh (Salman) who is honest and punctual in his duties as bodyguard and he takes pride in the kind of job he does. However, soon he is ordered to protect Divya (Kareena) daughter of Sartaj Rana (Raj Babbar) who is a business tycoon. Lovely always stays with Divya even when she is at the university campus which makes matters worse between Divya and Lovely. Divya does not like the over-protective nature of Lovely and she decides to take some kind of revenge to keep him out of sight. She creates a love affair scene to make Lovely believe that she is madly in love with him. However, during the process she draws closer to his simple and straight forward nature but soon Lovely falls in the web and things begin to go wrong for Divya and Lovely as well.
On performance level, Salman is impeccable as Lovely Singh and he always has his act together. This movie is designed for Salman Khan and therefore he is the main thing in every scene that follows. This is an absolute treat for Salman Khan fans as they can not only enjoy the action sequences but also relish the different expressions and honesty of Salman on screen. You will see every possible emotion in Salman Khan in this one so it’s a complete package. Kareena Kapoor fans will also enjoy this movie equally well because she is the second most important character in the story. The character of Divya has many shades which are revealed as the story progresses. Raj Babbar and Mahesh Manjrekar do exceptionally well in their character roles so it’s good for all. Technically, the movie is great and cinematography by Sejal Shah is exceptional, especially the action sequences are very well coordinated to provide greater impact on the audiences. The story and screenplay by Siddique works well and will be applauded. Music by Himesh Reshammiya and Pritam is doing well on various music charts and songs like I Love You, Bodyguard and Desi Beats are doing well.
To conclude, Bodyguard is a complete entertainment for the family and therefore it will receive good response all over India and abroad as well. The movie is completely different from the earlier releases of Salman like Wanted, Dabangg and Ready and therefore it is a different treat altogether. What makes Bodyguard a better movie than the rest is the simple plot with a dramatic twist as the plot grows deeper and the fact that Salman is the main USP of this movie.
