Dalip Tahil returns to Hindi television scene

Mr. Barron a.k.a Dalip Tahil who last made his appearance in the modest successful film Ra.One is soon returning where his heart is. The actor is returning back to television with a soap to be produced by Ekta Kapoor. The versatile actor left television long time ago and was a part of some great series like “Sword of Tipu Sultan” and “Buniyaad”. He then left television completely and even was not seen much in Bollywood. Whilst he continued to act in several theatres based plays and British shows, he made small appearances in Ra.One, Rock On, Hello amongst other films. Currently busy with his theatre based show “Sound of Music”, the star is planning to make a comeback to Hindi television with a strong concept. Talks are on that he will be portraying a character reminiscent of the Late. Amrish Puri in Pardes in a show by Balaji Telefilms which would be aired in the newly revamped Star One now called Life’s OK. He said he recently gave a look test and has been approached to play the lead. Commenting on the Indian television scene he added that television in India needs a radical change in terms of quality. While public blindly trust a few shows they feel let down by producers. Also commenting on his comeback he said that it is not a comeback in its true sense. Just that he was away from the Indian scene and was committed to British television. He also has plans to work in some musical based shows and dance reality considering his vast experience in theatre. Dalip Tahil is also essaying the role of Mahatma Gandhi in the play Letters to Gandhi which shall be premiering on February 27th in London. The versatility of this actor is truly unmatched and let’s hope that his comeback stint in India appeals to his fans and he achieves immense success. All the best Dalip Tahil.
