Many are of the view that Ek Tha Tiger is Salman Khan’s career best film so far though he has done the biggest earners like ‘Wanted’, ‘Dabanng’ and ‘Ready’. There is really no doubt in saying that Ek Tha Tiger is Khan’s best film so far in his long career spread over decades. Salman Khan is followed largely by his ardent and crazy fans and we always witness that his dialogues and style statements are followed heavily. The film is a romantic thriller that talks about a scientist of Indian origin at Trinity College who is suspected to sell missile technology secrets to Pakistan. Tiger (Salman Khan), a secret agent of India, is sent there by the Indian government to learn about the activities of the professor. Amidst all, Tiger starts loving Zoya (Katrina Kaif) who is the caretaker of the professor. Then begins a tumultuous journey of both Tiger and Zoya fighting with the hazardous world of spying and intelligence which does not allow the soldiers to love anybody.
The film is laced with heavy dosage of action. It is a treat for the lovers of action movies and ofcourse for the fans of Salman Khan’s films. Salman’s entry is fabulous and the viewers simply love it. The action sequences done by Salman and Katrina both allure the souls. Salman already does action but seeing Katrina doing so for the first time entices the theater-seaters.
The film’s high points are heavyweight script and the brilliant performances of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Story by Aditya Chopra is brilliant and first rate. Screenplay has been written with gusto and creativity. It grips the viewers till the final frame. Neelesh Misra and Kabir Khan on script do wonders.
Although the movie is super gripping and enticing from the beginning till the end but it is the second half which gets you glued to the screens fully. There are some faults nonetheless in the movie such as the first half of the movie lacks some passion. Besides romance sometimes looks really dull between the two lovers. Some questions arise in viewers’ minds how a toughie agent falls in love with a babe easily? Well, overall the film is supremely spellbinding and transfixing that these minor faults seem ignorable.
Kabir Khan works big time as a director. His direction makes the viewers fully attentive. The man shows his class with his execution. The film has been shot at various eye-candy locations of the world. Cinematography hits the hearts since it lets you have an international feel. Aseem Mishra deserves brownie points for this marvelous job. Editing is brilliant. Dialogues work high with the masses. Music is really hummable and catchy. Sohail Sen and Sajid-Wajid do this luminous job of composing the tracks.

The man will surely bring the record breaking results with this film. Katrina Kaif enacts the part with class. She shows she is a fine actress and can do every kind of roles with perfection. The chemistry between the two – Salman and Katrina is awesome. Ranvir Shorey is first rate. Girish Karnad is good. Roshan Seth is okay.

Controversies are bound to happen if it is a Salman Khan movie, and Ek Tha Tiger is no exception either. There was a controversy regarding the release date of this movie. Reportedly this movie was supposed to be released on 1st June 2012 but on Aamir Khan’s request, who wanted to release hi movie ‘Talaash’ on the same day, Salman shifted the release date of his movie to Eid of 2012 which is in August. It was even reported that Salman Khan has been offered a whooping amount of 32 crores for this movie. The other controversy surrounding this movie was that music director, Pritam was supposed to compose the music of this film, but when he opted out, Aditya Chopra roped in Sohail Sen to compose the music of his film. Sohail Sen’s previous venture was ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ which did fairly well at the box office and its music was a huge success.
Ek Tha Tiger is being produced and will be distributed in the overseas and Indian market under the Yash Raj Films banner. They began shooting for this on the 10th of August 2011 and it is being shot in 5 different foreign locations which include Turkey, Ireland and Iraq.
