Television’s leading lady in terms of delivering the best, Ekta Kapoor has made her choices pretty clear. Ekta has chosen to focus on Television at the same time doing films as well. However the choices are restricted.
Riding high on the huge success of her film “The Dirty Picture”, Ekta says that producing television content makes her feel like home, whilst movies are a sort of a vacation. Ekta Kapoor who recently launched her new series “Kya Hua Tera Vaada” also said that she is what she is today only because of Television and so there is the strong emotional connect. Films give her a chance to experiment with storytelling but TV is where she is going to come back.
Everyone knows the success that Kapoor scripted which changed the face of television in early 2000 with some amazing shows like “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi”, “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki” and she continues to do so in recent times with her show “Bade Ache Lagte Hain” and “ Kuch To Log Kahenge”. She has recently launched a new show “Kya Hua Tera Vaada” which brings Mona Singh who played Jassi in the serial “Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi” an adaptation of “Ugly Betty”.
However Ekta has done fairly well in films as well. Starting with “Kya Kool Hai Hum”, “Shootout at Lokhandwala”, “Ragini MMS”, “Love Sex aur Dhokha”, each time Ekta with these films has brought a new variety and thus is a hit on the film circuit as well.
Currently producing “Shootout at Wadala”, with Sanjay Gupta, 2012 promises to be a busy year for her as she is on the verge of releasing there of her films “Kya Super Kool Hai Hum” – a sequel to Kya Kool Hai Hum, Rock the Shaadi and Once a upon in Mumbai -2 another sequel.
Let us all hope the lady continues to entertain usuHum as long as she has her choices clear.
