Sajid Khan presents his madcap comedy ‘Housefull 2’ with much oomph. The movie was being awaited much by the audiences since the prequel to the flick was a big hit and the promos of the film further added curiosity inside the moviegoers. The heavy promotional activities made the film already popular among the cine buffs. Sajid Khan is considered to be the man of hilarious comedies and every time he oozes out with something super wacky to tickle the funny bones of the audiences. This time around he once again brings in the product laced with giant comedy to entertain you in full.
He says he makes the films for the common masses for their entertainment. Yes, he is absolutely correct – his movies are fully entertainers always with no intellectual aspects at all having just masala to get entertained with. The same ingredients have been used in Housefull 2.
Sajid Khan was quite sure of the big success of the new installment of his successful film ‘Housefull’. He openly admitted it in interviews prior to the movie’s release. Well, the director can certainly get the success this time around again. The film consists of catchy script (though it lacks somewhere), gripping direction, spongy music, brilliant dialogues and power-packed performances by the star cast. It is without any question is a quality product, Sajid Khan has churned out to enjoy with. The movie promises the tummy laughs and hilarious comedy to give you full return of your hard-earned money. You leave the house smiling and laughing. In fact, you carry the movie back home.
Housefull 2 carries the bigger cast from Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade, Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez, Shazahn, Zarine Khan, Boman Irani, Mithun Chakraborty, Rishi Kapoor to Randhir Kapoor. Rarely do you witness such a massive star cast in a Hindi movie and Sajid has done this for you. And interestingly all of them enjoy meaty roles to enact. From the prequel, Sajid has brought Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Boman Irani, Randhir Kapoor and Chunky Pandey.
The viewer extracts joys from the opening reels till the climax. The film lets the audience get glued to the screens and to their seats. Watch Housefull 2 putting your mind aside since it is not going to provide you with any intellectually written comedy rather it offers a nonsensical rib-tickling slapstick humor to entertain with.
The film talks about four fathers (Boman Irani, Mithun Chakraborty, Randhir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor), their four gorgeous daughters (Asin, Zarine Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Shazahn Padamsee) and four prospective sons-in-law (Akshay Kumar, Ritesih Deshmukh, John Abraham and Sheryas Talpade). The girls’ fathers want their daughters to tie the knot with the richest boys and each daughter is of the view that she is tying the knot with the most affluent guy. And each son-in-law pretends to be the most affluent son-in-law. Therefore none of them can stand each other and interestingly all of them stay under one roof – one home. What happens next is an utter joyful and humorous rib-tickling comedy.
Sajid Khan gets one thing very clear to his viewer that he has made this film just for the entertainment of the people. He offers the audiences to enjoy the madcap comedy with feel good cinema, moments and melodious music to get entertained with. The film relaxes your nerves and soothes you fully. And it promises to make you tension free in those two hours you stay at the auditorium.
The first half of the movie is real fun. Akshay Kumar’s introduction appeals to the eyes. The script lacks a bit in post interval portions such as the writers put the fun somewhere in the backseat. The fight scene and Vinood’s entry seems forced into the narrative. Few jokes strictly appear artificial.
Sajid Khan has impressed with his direction once again. He is potentially a good director and every time he emerges and rules the scene.
Story is appealing written by Sajid Nadiadwala. Script is gripping (except the flaws mentioned above) and it has been dashed off by Sajid Khan, Tushar Hiranandani and Frahad. Dialogues really deserve the special mention since they attract a lot. Music is really melodious and has been composed by the duo of Sajid-Wajid. Papa To Band Bajaye and Anarkali Disco Chali have already been hitting the top positions on the charts. Cinematography by Manoj Soni is eye-candy. Editing is first-rate.
Akshay Kumar is superb in his act. He shows his brilliant form in this film. His comedy timing is superb. He injects life in comedy that is why he is always the first choice of the directors who want to make a comic caper. John Abraham improves as a comedian. He is a classy and luminous actor and now he started proving that he can enact comedies with ease as well. After Garam Masaala and Desi Boyz, Akshay and John have teamed up once again. Riteish Deshukh is as usual great in comedy. Shreyas Talpade impresses with his class. Asin is gorgeous and enacts meaty part with aplomb. Jacqueline Fernandez and Shazahn allure the souls with sultry acts. Zarine Khan looks beautiful and delivers the goods well. Boman Irani is in his usual elements. Mithun Chakraborty is fine. Randhir Kapoor is great to watch. Rishi Kapoor justifies the role. Malaika Arora Khan looks damn sexy in her item number. Rest of the cast is simply awesome.
Final Verdict by the Critic:
Housefull 2 is a wacky entertainer and it promises you the bigger laughs and rib-tickling comedy. A MUST WATCH!
Housefull 2 is a sequel to the 2010 movie Housefull. This one too is being directed by Sajid Khan. It will be a romantic comedy; well don’t have high expectation as we already know what sort of movies does Sajid Khan make and his level of comedy.
Housefull 2 brings back the some of the previous cast like Akshay kumar, Ritiesh Deshmukh and Boman Irani but has many new additions aswell. Well frankly the list of new additions is never ending so let us not talk about it. However, Housefull 2 has been in news for all the wrong reasons of late. The sequel was announced by the Sajid Nadiadwala way back in September 2010, but the shoot started in June 2011. Meanwhile there were a lot changes being made in the cast crew.
Firstly Asin Thottumkal replaced Deepika Padukone for the title role. Then the trio of music directors Shankar – Ehsaan – Loy replaced the duo Sajid – Wajid, who composed the music for the prequel. Now recently, industry insiders have confirmed that Akshay Kumar’s character in the film, Aarush is comicly inspired by the character of James Bond and so the producers of the film have booked an action set in Hollywood for a sequence to be shot there. The movie is mainly being shot in London, Peterborough and other foreign locations.
There are many other controversies surrounding this movie; one of them being the link-up between Sajid Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez. It was reported that have been hanging around together a lot and it seems that they have developed a certain fondness for each other. Just to mention that Jacqueline even did and item number in the prequel to this movie. Talking about items numbers, Malaika Arora Khan is all set to do an item number in this upcoming film.
Housefull 2 is yet to release and it’s a long time from now, but all we can hope for is that it doesn’t torture us the way the previous one did.
