“It’s My life “ directed by Anees Bazmee is the remake of the very hit Telegu movie Bommarillu. This film was one of the biggest hits in the South Indian film industry, and Bazmee plans to make a money churner out of it.

She had zeroed in on Genelia after watching her in the original movie Bommarillu. In the original film she was the romantic lead opposite a guy called Siddhart. The innocent portrayal of her role, and her subtle expressions made her the favorite of Anees Bazmee, and she decided to have her on the sets for the Hindi remake as well. Opposite Genelia, she had cast Harman Baweja. Harman plays the role of very stubborn, spoilt child of a rich businessman. He is not used to listening to others and believes that what he thinks or wants is final.

However things change a lot after he meets Genelia in the role of Natalie in the film. Harman develops a soft corner for her and eventually falls in love with the sweet and charming Natalie. The film takes a different turn from here on altogether. Harman rises as a rebel to stand for his love against the tortures and wickedness of his father. Although the story of the film is very common and has been repeatedly tried out, one mustn’t forget that Anees Bazmee has been pretty successful in spinning one hit after another.

One thing atht deserves attention is that this is a pretty old movie and was initially slated for a 2009 release. However the film got delayed and kept getting delayed. Bony Kapoor attributes the delay in the release of the film to the lead actor Harman Baweja. According to Bony Kapoor , Harman had given more priority to his other two films, “ Victory “ and “ What’s your Rashee?” He had wanted to finish off with the Ashutosh Gowariker project before giving time to “It’s My Life”. Mr. Kapoor seemed to be very displeased with this erratic and irresponsible behavior of Harman Baweja .

He in fact went to the extent of saying that had Harman Baweja not delayed the release of the film, he would have managed to have  a successful film in his kitty by now. He had said that the film would be released just after the release of Milenge Milenge , but even that deadline couldn’t be kept.

As of now we are only hoping that the 24th February deadline is not missed. Another reason to watch this film is the presence of THE GREAT Nana Patekar . Both Harmna Baweja and Genelia D’souza vouch for the fact that it was great working with the legendary Nana Patekar.
