Maghadeera now as a Hindi Remake

The Band Baaja  Baraat star, Ranveer Singh has more reasons to smile. With Ladies V/s Ricky Bahl becoming a moderate success at the Box Office, what is more elating for the star is that he has just been signed to play the lead character in the remake of the Telegu Superhit Film – Maghadeera.

Maghadeera rights have been brought by Vikas Bahl and Anurag Kashyap’s company Phantom. The telegu version had the iconic Chiranjeevi’s son Junior Chiranjeevi – Ram Charan Teja.

The film has already been dubbed and released in Malayalam as “Dheera – The Warrior” and in Tamil as “Maveeran”.

The film was made at a budget of Rs. 60 Crores made a whooping Rs. 140 crores at the Box Office and was a runaway hit.

Maghadeera boasted of some high level special effects and some brilliant action sequences and narrates the story of a warrior. Vikas Bahl the producer who bagged the Hindi rights said that Maghadeera is the best thing to happen to Phantom (his company) and is a passionate project for them. Also commenting on the casting of Ranveer Singh, he said that Ranveer has all the ingredients to be a warrior prince and entertain audiences.

While Ranveer is currently shooting for Vikramaditya Motwane’s Lootera opposite Sonakshi, news is that he will start work on this project as soon as he wraps up with Lootera. The female lead is yet to be finalised and the hunt to cast a female lead is on.

There were rumors that Ranbir Kapoor was supposed to be playing the lead role, but Ranveer has been finalised confirmed Bahl. The film will be going on floor around middle of this year and is to be made at a budget of Rs. 50 crores.
