Mumbai: The movie production called ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ has turn out to be one of the most successful projects of the year, following other great productions such as Tanu Weds Manu, Haunted, F.A.L.T.U and Ragini MMS. It seems that a sequel to this film is already in the works, according to our source. This youth comedy – which has an all new crew, cast and the production team – will also offer its fans a sequel.
From what we have been able to find out, the director of the sequel will also be Luv Ranjan, the man behind the movie production. As for the release date, it seems that ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ it scheduled to hit the floors next year, in 2012. Abhishek Pathak, age 24, is it probably the youngest producer in the film industry of tinsel town to make such a successful flick, so early in his career. In a recent interview, he told reporters that “We wanted to test waters before making any announcements. There are so many ways in which this franchise can be taken forward. Wait for the sequel; we would be breaking quite a few trends there as well.”
Even though the flick in question did not do so well at the box office in the first days – the film had kind of a bad start – after a while the production managed to bring quite an important income. So far the film has brought producers 8 crores and continues to grow.
Director Luv Ranjan said that “Yes, the film has grown with word of mouth and now obviously there is a demand from the market to get the sequel on floor. I don’t want to rush into bringing the film on floors though. For Pyaar Ka Punchnama I spent quite some time writing it and making myself very sure before approaching the producers.”
