Vikram Bhatt returns with the third installment of Raaz 3, the movie that has been well in news since the day it was announced. The movie has been well in talks due to the starcast which includes the dusky-sultry Bipasha Basu, Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta. The film’s bold scenes and the storyline too put it on the headlines. Since the Bhatts camp is behind the production and direction, the moviegoers are rest assured of the quality stuff to relish with. And yes, the cinegoers have not been disappointed at all with the outcome on screen rather they enjoyed the flick a lot.
Vikram’s Raaz 3 is undoubtedly the well-made and well-scripted fiesta which carries the brilliant performances by the leading stars as well. The movie holds your attention from the opening reels till the last reel. There are hardly any moments in the film where the viewers took their eyes off the screen and that is the beauty and mastery of the movie and the filmmakers who has done splendid job.
Vikram Bhatt’s execution and Shagufta Raffique’s script make the enterprise a rock hard horror film to stay with. Vikram Bhatt has become a master storyteller in the art of horror movies. Although his last extravaganza ‘Dangerous Ishq’ could not run well at the box office and the audiences did not approve it at all but the film’s 3D effects worked big time. The horror films, which Vikram made and makes, run well with the audiences and they give him brawny points for the same.
Raaz 3 too carries the 3D effects but the interesting and the important factor of the film is that rather than putting full focus on the 3D technology, Bhatt went to concentrate on the execution, horror stuff and the writing of the movie. This was his brilliant strategy since he knew he failed with the last outing ‘Dangerous Ishq’ where the main focus seemed entirely to be on the 3 effects.
Bhatts are largely famous for the sex and content quotient penetrated luminously in their movies and Vikram Bhatt’s Raaz 3 is no different in this manner. You may witness the smooches between Emraan and the two ladies of the movie – Bipasha Basu and Esha Gupta. The intimate sequences of the leading male and his two ladies raise the heat level in body for sure and the audiences enjoy it fully.
Raaz 3 talks about the leading film star Shanaya (Bipasha Basu) who is well in demand. Her supremacy in the fraternity is well shaken and she starts witnessing the failures when a newcomer Sanjana (Esha Gupta) steps into the scene. All attention starts to be given to Sanjana. She becomes the center of attraction of all – the roles are now for Sanjana. Shanaya turns out to be a big enemy of Sanjana and eventually she turns to black magic to ruin the new actress. Shanaya uses her director boyfriend Aditya (Emraan Hashmi) as a pawn but he too gets mesmerized by the charms of the new gorgeous actress Sanjana. He begins loving her.
Shagufta Rafique has written the tremendously brilliant script which captures the attention of the viewers from the initial reels and gets the viewers caught into the magic. The luminous thing is that Vikram executes the script very skillfully on screen and that is the highest point and brawny distinction for the filmmaker. Vikram Bhatt enacts his job of execution with such aplomb and conviction that you simply love it.
Cinematography by Pravin Bhatt is fine and extraordinary. Editing is great. Music is ordinary. What happened to Bhatts this time around that they failed to generate the chartbuster tunes for which they are famous among the moviegoers? There are tunes which are hummable and you can enjoy singing but you have witnessed it yourself that no single track turned out to be chartbuster.
Bipasha Basu is the true hero of the film. The brilliant actress has done the super remarkable job in this film. Her acting skills are flawless. She needed a hit and she got it with Raaz 3. Emraan Hashmi is as usual luminous in his part. Esha Gupta shows that she has class and she can touch the heights in the industry. Rest of the cast goes well with their respective parts.
Final Verdict by the Critic:
Raaz 3 is a well-executed and well-scripted film which contains horror to frighten you and brilliant performances by the leading stars to add more values to this already classically made movie.
Unlike the first two movies namely “Raaz” and “Raaz 2”, “Raaz 3” is going to be a stereoscopic 3D horror film. The name “Raaz 3” is a short form for the name of the film which is actually known as Raaz-The Third Dimension. “Raaz 3” is the sequel to the 2009 film “Raaz 2”.In “Raaz 3”, Vikram Bhatt will be seen donning the director’s cap once again. The 2002 horror flick “Raaz” was directed by Vikram Bhatt but “Raaz 2” was directed by Mohit Suri.
Just like the homecoming of Vikram Bhatt as the director, “Raaz 3” will also see the homecoming of Bipasha Basu in a lead role. Bipasha was not a part of the 2009 movie “Raaz 2”. The producers of “Raaz 3” i.e. the Bhatts are extremely confident about its success. They are of the opinion that “Raaz 3” will be the biggest ever money spinner from the Bhatt camp. When the “serial kisser” Emraan Hashmi meets the smoking hot Bipasha “Bips” Basu, one can expect that things are definitely going to get more steamy on screen.
According to Mukesh Bhatt, “Raaz 3” is a horror movie that can be termed as the “horror of the hearts”. It is going to be an entirely different story that would include the element of romance and promises enough surprise and shock for the viewers. The Bhatts are quite confident that “Raaz 3” would break the previous records of all the films that have been the product of Vishesh Films.
The Bhatts are well known for casting the fresh faces in their films and yet manage to create a winner in their films. Model turned actor Esha Gupta has been roped in for “Raaz 3” following the walkout of Jacqueline Fernandez. Jacqueline, who had a rather successful venture with the Bhatts in “Murder 2”, apparently had a problem in wearing sparse outfits for her role. This led to a rift between Jacqueline Fernandez and the Bhatts and the former opted to walk out from “Raaz 3” much to the disappointment of the Bhatts. The Bhatts replaced Jacqueline with Esha Gupta who already has a couple of sequels in her kitty, namely “Jism 2” and “Jannat 2”. With “Raaz 3”, “Jannat 2” and “Jism 2” all being products of the Bhatt camp, it seems that Esha Gupta is the new apple-of-the-eye of the Bhatts.
The stage is all set for a dark love story coupled with all the horror elements. The inclusion of Bipasha Basu and Esha Gupta are expected to up the sex and the glam quotient of “Raaz 3”. Will the chemistry between Emraan Hashmi and Bipasha Basu prove to be effective? Will the sexy Esha Gupta increase the number of viewers at the movie theatres? Well we will have to wait till the end of August to find the answers to these questions.
