Rani Mukherjee may crash into the ‘Dhoom 3’ planet: Is she good enough?

If Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif were not tempting enough then you may soon have Rani Mukherjee, the extremely talented & versatile actress, crashing into the planet of ‘Dhoom 3’. Rani, who is staying behind an obscured curtain these days (with her last big release a year back in ‘No One Killed Jessica’), will make a grand comeback with ‘Talaash’ this June opposite Aamir. But you can prepare yourself for witnessing the sensuous, hot side of Rani in ‘Dhoom 3’ where she’s likely to be lent a spicy, glam look akin to the one given to Aishwarya Rai in ‘Dhoom 2’.
Aishwarya’s size zero frame had, during those days, made the nation sway to her ‘crazy kiya re’ body. But is Rani too old to play a pin-up girl? Critics and experts had once made the mistake of writing her off as an actress past her prime and sale date. But she hammered all criticisms with a bang in ‘No One Killed Jessica’ and is now expected to make a splash in ‘Talaash’, the most awaited film of the year.
Yash Raj production wants Rani for ‘Dhoom 3’ and a substantial role is being hunted to fit the actress in. Rani, no doubt, is one of the most powerful actresses of the times and it won’t be too challenging for her to get into an oomphilicious body (she already did that in flicks like ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’ and ‘Tara rum pum…’). Besides, it doesn’t harm that she shares a good relationship with Aditya Chopra.
So, it will definitely come as a welcome news for her fans if she is finalized for the third edition of the Dhoom franchise. It has already got bigger, and hopefully better, with the inclusion of Aamir Khan in the garbs of the super-villain (earlier essayed by John Abraham & Hrithik Roshan in part 1 & 2 respectively). And then we have the heart-conquering Katrina Kaif who is a crowd puller. And of course, there is the ‘jodi’ of Abhishek Bacchan and Uday chopra in their trademark roles of acting the chasers!
The flurry of young actresses in recent times may have shifted the limelight away from the ageing Rani (wonder why age is such a big factor only for women) but those familiar with her impeccable acting genius are aware that she still has it to remain the Queen of Bollywood. And she shares an excellent on-screen as well as off-screen rapport with the Midas man Aamir Khan. It is to be seen if Rani can slip into the demands of the flick and create a dhoom in theatres.
