Review:

Rating: ★★½☆☆

Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya hits the screens today. The film was much in talks due to the vivid fact of the grand marriage of Ritiesh Deshmukh and Genelia D’ Souza that took place earlier this month. The viewers were eager to watch the real life couple romancing on screen. An entertainer, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya is a love saga of a couple. A Tips production, the film is directed by Mandeep Kumar. People often get anxious to watch the real life couples on screen and the same happened with this product, which dragged the people to the theaters just because of the fact of the leading couple’s marriage. Well, the makers got advantage of Ritiesh and Genelia’s marriage.

More than eight years back, both Ritiesh and Genelia were paired together in Tujhe Meri Kasam and then they got featured in Indra Kumar’s hit comedy ‘Masti’. Post Indra Kumar’s flick, they were not starred together in any of film. Now after a long hiatus, they have been paired together once again in a film. The viewers entered into the theaters without any expectations at all since they just carried the actual marriage of the couple along in cinemas.

The film talks about Mini (Genelia D’ Souza), a carefree girl having a Canadian passport that is the biggest attraction for all and sundry. She is beautiful and the daughter of Bhatti (Tinu Anand), a Canadian businessman. Viren (Ritiesh Deshmukh) works with her father. Bhatti wants her daughter to get married and he zeros in an affluent guy for her but she is not interested at all in him. Mini wants to escape from the over protective behavior of her father and the marriage proposal her father has for her. She designs a kidnapping drama involving Viren and both then flee. Like it happens in Hindi movies, they eventually fall in love with each other.

Neither is the script of the movie extraordinary nor does it have any kind of novelty. It is a routine kind of formulaic story, which is quite predictable. The film could have been made extra rib-tickling comic caper. There must have been something of a unique stuff to allure the audience. This kind of story, where the couple escapes from home when the parents want one of them to tie the knot as per parents’ liking, we have grown up watching endless times on screen. The movie could have been risen on the front of entertainment i.e. comedy if a proper care was given.

Direction by Mandeep Kumar is well-executed. He does a fine job by getting the viewers involved on the screen. The second half is more attractive than the first.  Cinematography is superb and quite eye-pleasing. The camera work raises the spirits. Editing is fine. Music by Sachin-Jigar is average.

The film has brilliant performances, which add values to the film. Ritiesh is brilliant in his part and allures the audiences with his usual classy acting. Genelia Deshmukh appears gorgeous and delivers the goods with aplomb. Om Puri is wonderful. Smita Jaykar is great to watch. Veena Malik’s item song is passable.

Final Verdict by the Critic:

Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya is appealing and entertaining in parts. Had the script been great, the film would have been a classy product to watch. But it is recommended to watch it without any expectations. Just enjoy.
