‘Zila Ghaziabad’ is a multi-starrer film directed by Anand Kumar, who has earlier done films like ‘Jugaad’ and ‘Delhi Heights’. The film will be produced by Vinod Bachchan, known for his last film ‘Tanu Weds Manu’.

‘Zila Ghaziabad’ is based on the gang war between two groups, that of Mahender Fauzi and Satbir. These groups were later killed in police encounters. It is said that the family of Fauzi had raised objections to the film, but it has been solved now. Dialogue-writer Nishikant Dixit says that the film will be a reflection of the local culture of Ghaziabad and adjoining areas.

Vivek Oberoi will be back in films, after not having done any film in 2011. He will be seen playing Satbir Gujja. He is very excited to do this film, as he will play against Sanjay Dutt’s character once again after ‘Shoot Out At Lokhandwala’. Also, the tales and setting about Ghaziabad is what has caught his attention and interest.

Arshad Warsi will portray Mahender Fauzi and Sanjay Dutt will portray Thakur Pritam Singh, a zamindar who turns into a cop and is known for his unusual way of dealing with criminals.

The film will also feature Geeta Basra and Shriya Saran in item songs. ‘Zila Ghaziabad’ is being made under the banner of Soundarya Productions and is eyeing a June 2012 release.
