The Dirty Picture – Music Review

Vidya Balan’s The Dirty Pictures has been on way to fetch in the mammoth publicity for it since the day the movie went on the floors. Balan’s jhutkas and matkas have been spelling magic with the cinegoers. Her naughty sexy persona, her huge skin-show and the seductress looks get huge publicity for the actress and the makers of the movie. Balaji Telefilms’ this flick is well-in-news and the moviegoers are waiting for the release anxiously.

Vidya’s sexy style and her mammoth amount of skin-show grab the eyes. The songs too generate the oomph factor. Music has been released by T-Series and composed by the duo Vishal-Shekhar. Rajat Arora has penned the lyrics.

1. Ooh La La (Bappi Lahiri and Shreya Ghoshal)

The soundtrack of the film unzips with the popular song, ‘Ooh La La’. The electrifying song has the 80s feel attached to the song. The background chorus is splendid. The vocalists – Bappi Lahiri and Shreya Ghoshal add true values to the track making the number a big chartbuster. The arrangements of the instruments appeal to the ears. The lyrics are well-written and the music is energetic. The song deserves the repeated hearings. The visuals of the song attract the eyes featuring Vidya in superb sexy avatars and Naseeruddin Shah.

The remix of the original song is a mixed bag, as it does not appeal on the standards of the original!

3. Ishq Sufiyana (Kamal Khan)

Following next is Sufi number sung by Kamal Khan who delivers the good in a classy style. The singer has potential to attract the souls. The vocals have been placed in manner required for this type of song. Rajat scribbles down the lyrics very creatively sensing the mood of the track. The composition is an additional pleasure the listeners enjoy with.

4. Ishq Sufiyana (Sunidhi Chauhan)

The female version of ‘Ishq Sufiana’ is rendered by the boisterous voiced versatile vocalist Sunidhi Chauhan who captures the mood from the roots and then croons the lines superbly. Do hear it time and again.

5. Honeymoon Ki Raat (Sunidhi Chauhan)

Honeymoon Ki Raat brings back the retro mood in the album. Sunidhi once again fastens the belts to gels well with the listeners’ likings to lure their souls. The sharp voice of Chauhan injects the saccharine magic into the ears. Rajat’s lyrics and Vishal-Shekhar’s music both raise the track’s value to further heights.

6. Twinkle Twinkle (Shreya Ghoshal and Rana Mazumder)

Shreya Ghoshal and Rana Mazumder both come behind the mike to bring up the naughty mood of 80s with the number, Twinkle Twinkle. Both deliver their best. The lyrics hold the values but the music lacks bit oomph.

Balaji Telefilms and T-Series have reason to smile big since the soundtrack of The Dirty Picture is superb and magical. The songs have potential to hit the jackpot. The music of the film will witness good sales from the market.
