A R Rahman lost the Oscar

Los Angeles: As the long awaited 83rd edition of the Annual Academy Award has passed, it is time to double check the presence on the red carpet, and of course the awards received on the big night. We were very sad to see that the award for Best Music did not go to our most famous composer, A. R. Rahman. During the ceremony, we could hear the composer perform alongside Florence Welsh “If I Rise”.

The composer was nominated at the Oscars for his work for the film “127 Hours”. The film was appreciated in the entire world, but failed to bring home any awards. The director of the film was the same who directed the popular “Slumdog Millionaire”, Danny Boyle. For the latter, Rahman brought home the prestigious award in 2009.

A. R. Rahman was also nominated for the Golden Globe and the BAFTA this year for the film “127 Hours”, but none of the nominations materialized. The award went this year to the composers Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor for “The Social Network”.
