Mumbai: Ali Zafar, the Pakistani talented singer-musician turned Bollywood actor, has been on his way to allure and loot the hearts of the Indians and the audiences of Hindi cinema who live all over the world. The fan following of Bollywood movies and stars also exists in abundance in his own country ‘Pakistan’, so his fans are getting multiplied there as well. In a capsule, Ali has spread his wings all over and is soon to be a worthy Bollywood star.
His stardom has touched the Indians and his acting has lured the hearts so much that he was zeroed in for the worthwhile Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award. The singer turned actor was conferred with the award on May 3rd in Mumbai under the category of Upcoming Male Talent.
Ali Zafar came down to Mumbai to receive his award and was super thrilled by receiving this much prestigious award. Zafar made his Bollywood debut with a small budget movie ‘Tere Bin Laden’ in 2010. The flick turned out to be a hit and his performance was much applauded by the critics and masses. Then he was roped in Yash Raj Films’ Mere Brother Ki Dulhan alongside Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif. The film made big at the box office. Again his performance was praised a lot. Then came in London Paris New York (released recently) that bombed at the box office but luckily he got rave reviews for his acting and singing skills. He did many jobs for this movie such as acting, singing, music composing and writing lyrics.
He tweeted to his fans that he was much excited by receiving this prestigious award and mentioned that he came from Dubai to Mumbai to receive this honor.
Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards are held annually by the Indian government for lifetime contribution to Indian cinema.
