Asin to work with Salman’s rival Shahrukh in ‘2 States’

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is very busy these days, simultaneously shooting for his upcoming films ‘RA. One’ and ‘Don 2’. But he is elatedly looking for his other project ‘2 States’ that are at initial levels of pre-production phase. The film is based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘2 States’ that is inspired from the novelist’s love story. Undoubtedly King Khan is in the lead male role and opposite to him is Ghajini star Asin. After ‘Ready’ and ‘Housefull 2’, Asin has grabbed another challenging and exciting role. The south sensation will now get an opportunity to romance bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, in Sajid Nadiawala’s ‘2 States’ to be directed by Vishal Bharadwaj.
A source said, “Asin is already a part of ‘Housefull 2’ and hence she often featured in the discussions about the casting for ‘2 States’. Sajid and Asin share a comfortable relationship and the actress was excited to be a part of the film, which not only features Shah Rukh but also will be directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. She is currently out of town but is expected to sign the papers as soon as she lands back in city.” The source further added, “Vidya Balan too was being considered for the role after Priyanka Chopra, since the female lead in the film is South Indian. Asin fits the bill for the same reason.” Asin is probably touted to be signed opposite Shah Rukh Khan for the adaptation of Two States . While Priyanka Chopra’s name was being speculated, Shah Rukh and producer Sajid Nadiadwala have chosen Asin as they wanted a fresh pairing. As Priyanka has been paired with Shah Rukh earlier, their search ended on Asin.
Asin is one such lucky actress, she has worked with Aamir Kahn in ‘Ghajini’, Salman Khan in ‘London Dreams’ and ‘Ready’ and finally she might end up being one of the few heroines to have worked with all the three Khans. And now with Shahrukh Khan in ‘2 States’. The role of a Tamil girl suits Asin to the tee and she has always professed eagerness to work with SRK. Asin has her fingers crossed as she waits to sign on the dotted line.
