Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan to host the opening ceremony of IPL

Mumbai:  DLF IPL 2012 is going to start from 3rd April and the preparations are going on for the season. The authorities are trying everything and leaving no stone unturned to make this cricketing extravaganza much alluring and eye-candy. Bollywood biggie the mega star Amitabh Bachchan has been roped in to host the opening ceremony of the fifth season of IPL (Indian Premier League) to be held in Chennai on April 3rd.

Amitabh Bachchan himself has made it confirmed that he is going to host the IPL ceremony in Chennai. Bachchan, 69, who has recently undergone for two abdominal surgeries, is presently taking rest to be healthy again. He will soon start the shooting and working and the first one would be the hosting of IPL Season Five’s hosting.

Amiatbh tweets to fans letting them know about the hosting of IPL saying, “Asia Cup is almost over and IPL is to start for the entertainment of the cricketing fans. The opening ceremony is going to be held in Chennai where I will be small part of it. I am nervous like hell. 3rd April is the day of the opening ceremony and I have started preparing for it. It would be such as honor to meet all the captains of the teams of IPL.”

Priyanka Chopra and Salman Khan among others too will be performing at the opening ceremony in Chennai to be held at the YMCA College of Physical Education. The IPL authorities also revealed that apart from Bollywood stars, the ceremony will also be having an international sensation to lure the audiences.

The tickets have started being sold from March 16th and will also be available online. The starting price is INR 1500. Seeing Bachchan hosting the show would be a treat since his baritone voice always entices a lot.
