Mumbai: Take a bite from the delicious Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Literally! No, it is not a joke, the actress actually invited people to have a taste. Not of herself, of course! The Padmashree horticulturist Haji Kaleemullah has grown a special and very tasty kind of…guava! The fruit was given the name of the popular actress, due apparently to its special taste and looks. The horticulturist claims that the Aishwarya guava (doesn’t that sound weird?!) has a sweeter taste and is pulpier that other guavas.
Kaleemullah emphasized on the special taste and look of the fruit, adding that it took him about eight years to develop this variety. He also assured consumers that no pesticides or chemical fertilizers were used during the development.
The horticulturist struggled hard to make a tasty and 100% organic fruit and all chemicals and artificial products were used. To make the fruit grow naturally, he used neem oil.
This is not Kaleemullah’s first developed fruit. A special mango was grown and named after the famous cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
