We all know Deepti Naval as an acclaimed Indian actress. She is more associated with arthouse and independent films which are known as parallel cinema in India. Lately Deepti Naval is gearing up for her directorial venture that is named, ‘Do Paise Ki Dhoop, Chaar Aane Ki Baarish’. This film is expected to hit the theatres in the next year, is actually homage to the late legend, Dev Anand.
The film is in its post – production stage currently. The movie revolves around the lives of an ageing prostitute (played by Manisha Koirala), her wheelchair – bound son (played by Deepti’s nephew, Sanaj) and a sruggling songwriter (played by Rajat Kapoor).
Deepti says that her movie that explores the complexity of relationships in today’s world but what survives ultimately is human bond. She said that, “I wanted to show my film to Dev saab. I told him about it. But as he was busy with his film ‘Chargesheet’, he could not see it. Now as homage, I want to dedicate my film to him.” Recently her book of short stories just came out that is named, ”The Mad Tibetan: Stories From Then and Now’.
Her film was supposed to release earlier but due to some reasons there has been a delay in its release and hopefully it will hit the screens next year. Apart from her directorial venture, the versatile actress is also very excited about being a part of ‘Listen Amaya’ and acting with Farooque Shaikh. She said that, “He has been a wonderful co-star and it’s great to have another opportunity to work with him.” She made her debut in Bollywood with the movie ‘Ek Baar Phir’ in the year 1979 and has worked in over sixty movies since then.
