Among the most celebrated award ceremonies of the country, the International Indian Film Academy Awards are presented to appreciate and honor Bollywood professionals. Since its inception in the year 2000, it is organized every year by Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt Ltd in various countries all over the world.

Every year, some films click with the audiences, while some don’t. Then you have some films which receive critical acclaim and some which fall flat on their faces.

2012 will see the 13th edition of the IIFA Awards being held in South Africa on 17th June. All the professionals in the Hindi film industry who worked hard in the past year will be given their due recognition.

The award function will be hosted by a popular face of the industry. The last four editions have been hosted by Boman Irani and Ritesh Deshmukh and it would be interesting to know if this would be their fifth year in a row. The gala event is broadcast on Star Plus.

According to latest reports, the IIFA voting weekend began on 30th March with celebs like Arbaaz Khan, Dia Mirza, Parineeti Chopra, Ramesh Sippy, David Dhawan, Zoya Akhtar, Sujoy Ghosh, Genelia D’Souza, Salim-Sulaiman, Shaan, Vivek Oberoi, Sonu Sood and many others, coming forward to cast their respective votes.

The IIFA award is presented by the International Indian Film Academy every year. The purpose of the awards is to honour excellence in the art of film making in Bollywood. Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt Ltd, a pioneer at event management organises this award ceremony. The first IIFA Awards was held in London in the year 2000.

The awards are held in different cities across the globe. The chosen city witness extremes of entertainment and fanfare, the Bollywood way.


This year the 13th edition of the awards will be held in the Lion City of Singapore. The films released in 2011 were taken into consideration. Awards were be given not only for artistic achievements but also for technical achievements. The events were held over a weekend and the actual award ceremony acted as the grand finale. Bollywood celebrities made way to Singapore as did thousands of fans. The entire city was suffering from Bollywood fever. Stars like Sujoy Ghosh, Shaan, Ramesh Sippy, Genelia D’Souza, Vivek Oberoi, Zoya Akhtar, Arbaaz Khan etc were spotted.

The award ceremony was hosted by Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar. The award ceremony witnessed a number of power packed performances from superstars like Priyanka Chopra, Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir and Rishi Kapoor etc.
