We have seen the unique style of promotion that actor Aamir Khan deploys whenever his film is lined up for a release. He turned a barber for ‘Ghajini’ and walked into cricketer Saurav Ganguly’s house, much to Dada’s surprise, before the release of ‘3 Idiots’. And now the maverick actor’s nephew Imran Khan seems to be taking a book out of dear Mamu’s book as he looks set to make a travelogue for promoting his upcoming ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’.
Imran plans to share the shooting experience of the film through the travelogue-styled video and promote the film in India and foreign shores of New York, Britain and Dubai. Fans can also watch it online on YouTube where he will be uploading it.
While the fresh strategy seems to spark a new trend, it has also brought to fore Imran’s film-making skills. Director of ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’ Shakun Batra has already spotted Imran’s love for the camera and his sharp shooting style. And he prophesies that the ‘Delhi Belly’ actor is definitely going to do some great work in the future from behind the director’s chair. This again reminds us of Aamir whose directorial talent was there to be seen in ‘Taare Zameen Par’ that bagged all the big awards and won the Midas man all the trophies as the year’s Best Director.
Reports suggest that Imran’s travelogue will be really an interesting affair for the fans since it will feature some out-of-the-box stuff and footages that Imran has wickedly and cleverly captured throughout the film’s shooting (including some caught-you-unaware moments of co-star Kareena Kapoor).
Whether Imran will ever get as big as Aamir is something only time will tell, but, as of now, we can look forward to the mushy rom-com EMAET that will explode into the theatres on 10th February. That sets up your perfect, cheesy, mushy screen date for the Valentine Week! Happy Kissing….!
