None can imagine even in their dreams that international terrorist Osama Bin Laden who was responsible for Twin Tower attacks in US, killing thousands of people, would find support in India which itself saw many attacks. But it turned out true in a border state of Chandigarh. It happened so that Oscar award winning director Kathryn Bigelow is making a film “Zero Dark Thirty” based on Abbotabad killing of Osama by US troops. To ward off protests in Pakistan, the film maker planned to shoot the film in India but little did he expect that India is no better.
Trouble brewed when strong mob of VHP, Shiv Sena activists stormed the shooting spot shouting slogans against Pakistan and Osama. They objected to film makers erecting hoardings, board signs in Urdu and their anger grew in no bounds watching Pakistani flags fluttering all over Chandigarh. Patriot Indians many support their cause, but common people and artists of Chandigarh, like noted director of Tagore Theatre, Kuldeep Sharma speaking to media said “They are creating an issue out of nothing. Creativity should be left alone by these elements,”. He even advised the protestors to concentrate on burning issues and says “The protesters should focus on other social issues instead of gaining mileage from such issues,”. He says film makers should be allowed to screen their films without hampering their creativity and peace.
The hollywood film ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ is an upcoming 2012 American Action Thriller about a the Black Ops mission to capture or kill founder of al-Qaeda consequently leading to Death of Osama bin Laden. The film was directed by Kathryn Bigelow and the screenplay was written by Mark Boal, both associated with The Hurt locker another military action thriller on Iraq war. It will stars Jessica Chastain, Joel Edgerton and Mark Strong.
