Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Chammak Challo’ Kareena Kapoor, who had signed Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai 2’, has walked out of the project. The sequel of the hit gangster film requires a strong female presence and Kareena had been finalized for the role by the Balaji Camp. However, since the film is yet to go on the floors and there are uncertainties regarding its shooting schedules, Bebo chose to opt out.
Kareena’s exit move comes only hours after the news that leggy actress Deepika Padukone has opted out of ‘Race 2’ (the much-awaited sequel of the hit thriller ‘Race’) since the project wasn’t taking off briskly. Now, Kareena’s decision to leave OUATIM 2 certainly leaves the Balaji Productions in a precarious position since they would now need a suitable replacement and it’s, indeed, hard to fill up the heavy shoes of the powerful ‘3 Idiots’ actress.
There is a buzz that she may have opted out of the film since, reportedly, Shahid Kapoor has been roped in to fill the role of one of the male protagonists. It’s well known that Kareena is not comfortable in sharing screen space (or any space, as a matter of fact) post their acrimonious break-up. However, the grapevine suggests that Shahid is not the reason why she walked out of the project.
3 Reasons why Kareena walked out: The primary reason why she left Ekta’s film is because of uncertainties revolving around the dates of the film. No fixed dates have been finalized yet and this was leaving Kareena pretty much in a neither-here-nor-there state.
Secondly, it has been learnt that Bebo has been offered another big film by a renowned film maker and since, it is all slated & scheduled, Kareena preferred it over Ekta’s undecided venture.
And finally, Kareena may soon tie the knot with beau Saif Ali Khan. Hence, she isn’t 100% certain about her near future and wants to sort out her dates beforehand with absolute certainty.
