King Khan & South Star Suriya to Anchor the 42nd International Film Festival of India

We all know how witty and smart the King Khan is when it comes to talking to the masses. The superstar simply outwits any and everyone on or off the stage. If you happened to witness his stunning performance at the Filmfare awards you are sure not to be successful in getting him out of your head for a really long time.

After his fresh success with Bollywood’s most expensive Ra.One and anticipations high on Don 2 doing even better Shahrukh Khan is all set to rock the stage of the 42nd International Film Festival of India. The event is to be held between November the 23rd and December 3 at Panaji, Goa.

“Shahrukh will flag off the 42nd edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2011 in Goa. He would formally inaugurate the 10-day extravaganza on November 23 at Ravindra Bhavan auditorium in Margao,” festival director Shankar Mohan confirmed.

The Film Festival is supposed to open with the screening of ‘The Consul of Bordeaux’. This Portuguese film is directed by Francisco Manco & Joao Correais expected to be one of the main attractions for the event. The festival is expected to screen over 100 movies from more than 65 countries and is awaited by many.

Shahrukh however will have company for the hosting. It seems he will only do the opening bit whereas the superstar of South Movies Suriya will be doing the closing ceremony. Suriya has given many hits in the past few years including Ghajini, Perazhagan, Vaaranam Aayiram, Rakht Charitra and the latest 7aam Arivu.

Anticipations are that the renowned filmmaker Luk Besson & Hollywood action superstar Michelle Yeoh will partake in the closing ceremony. Other stars present in the festival are Laurance Kardish, Dan Wolman, Raima Sen, Dino Morea and Prem Chopra.
