Mumbai: Kolaveri Di singer Dhanush has now been roped in to Bollywood to play the main lead in Tanu Wed Manu’s director Anand L Rai’s film, ‘Raanjhnaa’. At last Dhanush’s mammoth popularity has fetched him a leading place in Bollywood cinema. Expectations are that he will be signed by many other Hindi film directors soon. The beginning has started happening and the journey now will go on.
Anand mentions that he has been on his way to seek an actor of ordinary looks who appears to be simple on screen. For last six months, Anand was on lookout but eventually he found his film’s hero in Dhanush. When Rai watched Dhanush’s Tamil film ‘Aadukalam’ (for which Dhanush bagged the National Award for a good perfromnace), he instantly attracted to him. Anand then called him and the contact was done between the two.
Dhanush is not proficient in Hindi language but it will not be a barrier for him to do the movie. Dhanush is much eager to learn Hindi and the culture of Mumbai film industry.
The director adds his views saying the movie happens to be a deep love saga like his previous movie ‘Tanu Weds Manu’. He tells that the characters of the movie would take the audiences to various cities like Punjab Delhi and Chennai.
It was learnt that Anand called Dhanush well before Kolaveri Di took place (Dhanush cleared this thing, as the buzz is that he was roped in post the popularity of Kolaveri Di). Dhanush further said that the script of Raanjhnaa is utterly different than the regular Bollywood cinema. He and Anand most recently visited some cities like Banaras and Dhanush liked the culture over there. He is now going to hire a coach for learning Hindi language.
