Manoj joins South Bandwagon

After Sayaji Shinde (Santhosh Subramanium), Sonu Sood (Osthe, Arundhathi), Ashutosh Rana (Vettai) and the more popular Asish Vidyarthi (Gilli) went from B-town to South to play villainous characters down there, the latest buzz is that Manoj Bajpayee who was last seen in the hit-film Aaarakshan would be playing a negative character in Thiru’s Samaran.

The film is currently being shot in Bangkok and Manoj Bajpayee is shooting there with the team of Samaran. The film also has Vishal, Trisha and Sunaina playing lead roles.

The music of the film has been rendered by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography is done by Richard M Nathan.

There were reports that initially Arvind Swamy who currently is on a sabbatical rather almost retired from Tamil film industry and is concentrating on his business was roped in to play the role of the baddie but the real fact is that Arvind did not want to sign any films and concentrate on his work.

There was also news that Prakash Raj was approached for the role, but he did not take up this due to some unavoidable reasons.

Thiru the director of the film adds that Manoj fits the role perfectly and the character suits him and Manoj was really impressed with the script and immediately agreed to play this character.

J.D Chakravarthy last seen in Tamil film Sarvam will also play a pivotal character.

Trisha, Sunaina, and Vishal are currently shooting and the film is shaping up fast. The film’s basic plot revolves around a mountain trekker who sets on an expedition to China and faces tough challenges and how he copes with them forms the crux of Samaran.

With the biggies like Manoj Bajpayee, Trisha, Sunaina, Vishal and Chakravarthy sharing screen space, Samaran promises to be really big. All eyes would be when the film releases and stands tall to its expectations and more importantly stands as a perfect Tamil debut for Bhiku Mhatre a.k.a Manoj Bajpayee.
